I sadly lost touch with Clare over the last few years having moved to a new role. She was so positive, upbeat, and driven to succeed in all aspects of what she did, she lived life rather than let it happen around her. I always came away from spending time around her invigorated, she is somebody I will always hold up as an inspiration and never forget. This poem I feel sums Clare up to a T. xx A life lived is a precious gift, Of hope and strength and grace, From someone who has made our world A brighter, better place. It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad With smiles and sometimes tears, With friendships formed and good time shared. And laughter through the years. A life well lived is a legacy, Of joy and pride and pleasure, A living, lasting memory Our grateful hearts will treasure. -author unknown.

Sadly, I never got to know Clare. We met a few times in mixed company, and I was very moved by her positive attitude to her illness. She actually inspired me to have my head shaved when she had her first cancer diagnosis!! Clare's legacy is her fighting spirit to never give in to her cancer and that is how I shall think and remember her! Rest easy Clare. God Bless.xx
